Major roadway improvements coming near Inland Port AZ in Coolidge

Pinal County was recently awarded a Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant for $15.3 million. This grant will improve roadway infrastructure near the Inland Port Arizona which includes Nikola Motors as their main tenant.

The Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development, or BUILD Transportation Discretionary Grant program, provides a unique opportunity for the DOT to invest in road, rail, transit and port projects that promise to achieve national objectives. The Inland Port AZ will serve an important role in helping move goods across the U.S.

“I’m excited that (through) a joint effort we are all going to benefit,” said Coolidge Mayor Jon Thompson. “Once everybody knows that rail is really coming (to the site), I think you’re going to see (IPAZ) take off.” City Manager Rick Miller enthusiastically echoed that sentiment. “We’re excited that through everyone’s joint efforts that the IPAZ is going to get the infrastructure needed for us to continue attracting industry to this area and jobs."
